Labyrinth of Time is a quite impressive CD-ROM based puzzle adventure game, originally released for the DOS PCs, the Amiga and the Macintosh home computers.

Review
Labyrinth of TimeSTORY / GAMEPLAY
King Minos commissioned a labyrinth bridging time and space that will allow him to rule the Earth. You have been chosen to save the world by destroying this labyrinth that includes many mazes and puzzles to solve. So you find yourself on a deserted train car perched on a platform in the middle of nowhere! One of the doors leads to a quaint turn of a hotel, and the story begins. You have a few basic abilities and you move around using the arrow keys - turning left and right or moving forward. You can pick up, examine or move objects and you can also combine items you find on the way, via your inventory (typical adventure gameplay). There's also a map that helps a lot in finding your way through! This is a surreal adventure game, featuring a great atmosphere but letting down by some gameplay inconsistencies. This game was scheduled to be initially developed for the Amiga but EA released it for the PCs.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The game's graphics look great and use HAM6 mode (4096 colors). The game lacks Myst's cinematic style but its variety of rendered settings is quite impressive! Note that the use of HAM6 mode forces the CPU to work hard (even on a 68060 Amiga) and makes the gameplay pause when switching images.
